I'm currently experiencing the same issues. the belt keeps slipping off the front side of the power steering pump and shredding. it does it at random. all my pulleys are fine. the tensioner however, the belt rides very close to the front edge of the tensioner. almost looks as tho it is coming up to the power steering at a very very slight angle. But at the same time it doesn't. I'm so confused as to what is causing this.

Smile shredded belts

I had a similar problem, as my last post detailed. I will tell everyone how I solved it. My belt kept moving toward the rear of the pulley, and the pulley had a small ridge on it. The belt would eventually shred and end up somewhere on the road. I went through about 5 belts, and could not stop it. I took a close look at the problem and realized that the large metal bracket that the tensioner mounts to had to be providing the wrong angle for the tensioner. To solve the problem, I put a thin piece of aluminum behind the tensioner as a shim to adjust the angle, and it worked. Now my belt is in the middle of the pulley, and it stays there, and no more shredded belts. Kind of cheesy, but it works. I have been doing this for close to 2 years now, I guess, and have not had to buy another belt. For me, I had to shim the tensioner at the top, but for others, you may have to shim at the bottom, depending on where your belt is coming off of the pulley. I had to replace my tensioner recently, as I had to replace my alternater, and battery. But no shredded belts. Try it out and see if it works for you, or you could just replace that huge metal bracket behind the tensioner (not). I hope this helps someone.
