Question more info

ok today i changed the plug wires and the air filter....i drove the truck about 20 minutes(it was all the time i had) and it was still sputtering...at least it didn't quit...it was fine for the first fifthteen minutes but then the same thing...it was ok as long as i was keeping it going at a steady speed like on the highway, but then if i would stop at a light and try to take off again it would jump and sputter like it wasn't getting fuel... i can't find the paper that i wrote the codes on but the other code was either 34 or 36 or 54 or 56 not real sure but i guess i'm going to go and have it put on the computer again and see what happens this time....is there any way to check the map sensor or the o2 sensor to see if there bad without buying new ones???? i'll check the fuel pressure tomorrow and see what it is...

I've read that if you remove it's sensor wire connection & drivability improves, that's an indication that it's pooched.

If it only runs when the tank is completely full, the in tank pump could be shot. It will still run off the body mounted pump if the tank is pretty full. If its backfiring sometimes, I would check the timing.

Default Tomorrow

First thing in the morning I will try unplugging the map and let you know the results...Fuel test will be on sunday evening when I put it back on the computer and get the new results. I will then measure the fuel pressure and post the exact pressure. I bought a sending unit in hopes that it wil fix the temp gauge. Going to pull the fuel pumps out of the tanks tomorrow and clean the screen on them... Any other opinions would be appreciated..

do a pressure test w/ check on bleed down time first before you pull pumps!
