Hedman headers?

Proper header sealing:
1) If using stock E7 or GT40 heads, use regular stock Fel-Pro, Ford or Victor Reinz replacement gaskets.
2) The big one. Locking bolts are not needed as long as the header surface is true. When the surface is not true, the bolts work their way loose. If the surface is not true, take it to the machine shop and let them machine the surface true. If your headers are ceramic coated, return them to the manufacturer and exchange it until you get a set that is true.
3) Measure the depth of the bolt hole on the head along with the depth of the header flange. If it is deeper than 1 inch, do not use the 3/4" length bolts that came with the header and buy 1 inch header bolts. Bolt the header up to the head using the front and rear holes and two of those 3/4" bolt and stick a red brake cleaner can straw in it and measure it. (that's how I measure mine).
All of this will keep you properly sealed.
I know you don't have a 302, but I have a thread for 302s that goes into great detail and may cover quite a few questions that you may have in the future. https://www.f150forum.com/f10/bit-in...l-302s-276512/

Not sure if I'm off topic but.
I installed headman headers on my 95 5.0EFI XLT because the stock ones had a crack. The weather isn't too bad here in CA but PB blaster helped. They fit perfect. I suggest taking out the dip stick tube before installing the left header. Makes it a lot easier to install.
Engine wise, everything else is stock.
