If air only blows out of defrost, definitaly look for a vacuum leak. Check operation of blend door. The blend door is what regulates the air across the heater core for heat and stops air across the core for AC.

Where can I locate the blend door at ?

Its in the AC/heater box or plenium chamber. There will be two doors, either actuated by a cable or by vacuum motors. The one closest to the heater core is the blend door, the other door directs the air to where every you select.

I have a nice little diagram from my shop manual of the different paths air can take through the system. Is that something I can post up here or will the copyright police be at my door?
Also, the temp blend door pivot should be visible on the left side of the air box when you remove the glove box... Should be quick to get to.

I check there blend door actuator an it's working fine so I'm guessing it could be the door that's stuck or broken off ? Does anyone know how to remove the heater box with the door in it ? Under the glove box

did you look to see if the door its self was moving? if not here is what you do, first you take the glove box off, then you take out the 7 bolts that hold the plastic cover that is bhind the glove box the 7 bolts should be 5/16, then you have to hold the sheath that the cable goes through so that the door can actually move because the green clip keeps it from moving, then you move the lever on the dash and see if the door moves, the third pic is the blend door.
