Are you losing coolant? It could be residue or a small puddle sitting under the therm housing, I would rinse your engine bay to remove anything that is there from prior leaks/repairs, then double check all of you hose connections and cooling components after a short drive. Even when using the flush kit to burp the system you still won't initially get all of the air out, took me a couple of times of topping the reservoir to the cold fill line before she stopped sucking it in, I just kept a bottle of 50/50 in the truck and would fill to the line just before starting the truck. My truck blew hot right after bleeding the air out of the system through flush kit.

Well over the weekend I added more coolant and got most of the air out of the core. When warming it up to change the timing I noticed steam coming off the radiator. I think I must have a leak in the radiator too. This would explain me loosing coolant over the course of a few weeks.

Does anyone know of any upgraded full aluminum radiators for our trucks? I has the cooler for the transmission (E4OD) integrated in there too. Thanks!
