Angry Having some starter problems

Ok new starter and ignition switch didnt fix my problem.

Problem:
its having starter issues, and ive replaced the ignition switch, the starter, half the electrical to the starter lol. I turn the key to the on position and the starter engages (note its turned to the on position, when the starter shouldnt engage until i turn it past the on position). and it wont disengage when the truck does start. Any thoughts?

recheck starter wiring. Sounds like starter solenoid engages when you turn ignition on instead of "waiting" for the key to be turned to "start"

most probably wires were "switched" on ignition switch. And by the way - welcome to the forum

where would the solenoid be? And how can you switch the wires on the ignition switch? it was just a simple plug in switch.

i thought you were meaning ignition switch as in "solenoid".... but anyways, the solenoid is on the inside of the passenger side front fender.... it'll have a wire from the battery, to the solenoid.....and then from the solenoid, to the starter
