95 F150 i6 Manual. So I haven't used my 4wd much, except to put it into 4 hi and 4 lo.

2 Things:

Issue 1: I notice when I go into 4wd, I can't push it back up into 2 hi. I have to play with it back and forth to get the light to go off.

Issue 2: 4 lo has an electric motor sound to it. Like the sound a steering pump makes. Is this normal?

you did not say what year, your truck is....but for many F-150's there is a process in the manual to follow to switch between modes and drive.

Check your manual, and you will be surprised how easy it works.

Sorry, I keep forgetting to do that. 95 F150 i6 Manual.

Its manual 4wd engage. So when I pull down (put in 4 hi), then try and push up, it doesn't go right back into 2hi.

Note: I am not getting out and locking the hubs. This is just moving into 4wd in general.
