Default Gas tank sending unit

Gentlemen: I have just joined your forum I'm new at this so please bear with me. I have a 93' f150 XLT 2WD 5.0 I'm wondering where is the fuel sending unit located for the front gas tank(dual tanks). My gas gauge just went off on my last filll up. I know I have almost a full tank, but does not register anything at all. Here is the kicker, if I turn the ignition key one click it will start registering some fuel. No gas in the rear tank I don]t use it. Any ideas will appreciat any help. Thank you all!

Since it is a 93' I would drop the whole tank and replace the whole thing. My friend was in a bad accident (84' f 250)and he replaced both his gas tanks and that is basically what saved him.

So I would change out the tank(s) but if you don't what to I think it is on top of the tank in the middle.

Why would you replace the fuel tank for a faulty fuel gauge? The only way I would replace the tank is if something is wrong with it.The easiest way to get to the fuel sending unit is to remove the tank.If the after axle tank is at fault, the easiest way is to remove the bed.

Because I think it is a safety issue, it might have rust on it thus being more able to break or crack or something. And after seeing what happened to my friend it is well worth the time and money, and plus you all ready have the tank out of the truck anyways.
