Default Gas Tank and filling problems

So i go and fill my tank in my truck and i put it in and it starts filling then it doesnt stay on, it will keep clicking off so i have to hold lever till its full. any suggestions?

After i put $25 into it today the gas gauge didnt move. it worked two days ago, haha now im not sure it didnt move off E.

Any finally how difficult is it to put in a rear tank. There was one there but it had been removed before i bought my truck.

Any answers would be very helpful.
thank you.

My truck does the same thing when I fill up at certain stations, but not everywhere. I just don't go back to the gas stations where that happens. I think it has something to do with the angle of the end on the hose.

Happens on both of my tanks. Try pulling it out halfway, changing positions of the nozzle in the filler cap etc. Usually only takes me around 3 tries to get it to work now.

My truck does the same. only after i put my new tank in.

There is a vent hose in the filler neck, if this hose is bent, squeezed, or broke, then it will interupt the flow of gas, and or/ spew some back out at you. Some gas pumps compensate for the vent hose.

As for the gas guage not coming on, you either have a wire shorting out that connects to you sending unit, or the float is inoperative/sticking.

installing a new rear tank isn't too much trouble, just connecting hoses and things of that sort, not very technical. Look on ebay (link below), rear tanks are usually pretty cheap and offer free shipping. Compare it with autozone and its usually at least 20 bux cheaper (plus the convenience factor and gas savings!) Don't forget to order tank straps, and a hose for the rear filler neck if its not still on the truck.

I almost always had to pump slower into the front tank.

As stated, I would start by checking to make sure that your vent tube is not disturbed. Let us know how that turns out.
