Fuel Riddle
Ok guys, I have one for you.
My project truck ---87 F-150 4.9 EFI. Recently replaced both in tank pumps front and rear (Precision brand), frame rail fuel pump (precision brand), dual function reservoir (motorcraft), fuel filter (wix), and all of the fuel line from the block to back with gates high pressure line for the feed lines and gates fuel line for the return lines. The truck runs off the front tank with problems, but when I switch to the rear tank my high pressure pump gets louder, and intermittently the truck will start to stall out after driving for 10 minutes or so. I switch back to the front tank and all is fine. Fuel prssure at the block is around 45 on either tank.
I have been experimenting trying to use the rear tank til it gives out and today I made it all the way from work with no issues. About 15 miles.
Any ideas?
