We've disconnected the battery many times (only the negative terminal)... doesn't that void all codes?

Also...

How's THIS for a mystery... my father stuck a screwdriver into the end of the wire coming OFF the coil grounded himself and told me to start the truck. He got shocked. Power IS coming out of our BRAND NEW coil. BUT.... when we put a spark plug in the SAME wire, it doesn't spark... but we try the same test on our other vehicle and it sparks... WTF?

Well, when my key is turned to the ON position, the Check Engine light is on. I've read that this means that my computer and fuses are all good. But I am going to go through the Power Distribution box and check them all out.

Also, just tried to run some codes on it, but nothing was posting. I think it's not going to work because we've disconnected the battery already.

No codes whatsoever? You should still get code 11 if there are no codes.

I followed the guide on this forum on how to achieve the codes. Maybe I wasn't making enough contact. All I did was bridge the STI to the proper STO input with a jumper cable and then turned the key on. Am I doing anything wrong?

As long as you follow the instructions then it should work. If you're sure you're doing it right and you get no codes then most likely the computer is fried. Code 11 (or 111 depending on year) is the all clear code so even with no codes you get a code.

Okay, I got all day today to work on the truck. But this dead computer (PCM, right?) is sounding more and more like the issue here. I got a test light so I am going to run some more tests and try to run the codes again.

I am getting no spark from brand new ignition parts and my fuel pump runs constantly with the key ON. Would the fuel pump act like that if the main computer was fried?

ECU triggers injector fire.

Well, after exhausting every option, we are pretty sure it's the PCM (EEC-IV module). I am not getting any codes on the dash OR on the voltmeter...

Also, we followed the section in chapter 5 of the Haynes manual to test the ignition system and even those tests point to a fried PCM.

If I replace this PCM and still get no spark, I'm killing myself.
