D44 ttb to a D50 ttb swap?
donor:
80's f250 4x4 just a cut apart frame. with axles and drive shafts
d50 ttb up front with leafs
full float rearend. dont know exactly what it is? 10.25?
said it had 4.10 gears
mine:
92 f150 4x4
d44 coils
8.8 rear
3.55 gears
my question is has anyone attempted this swap or seen this swap on another rig?
i was told it was pretty much a strait bolt in, with minor fab. to convert to front leafs, or i could modify the radius arms and use them.
rear axle should drop right in.
i dont do hard off roading, just play once in a while, but i'm looking to put on a plow and haul a goose neck time to time. and i currently cut and haul alot of wood, and the 3.55's with the 31's are bad at towing.
by the way all parts were free. even the plow that was mounted on the front of the donor. so all i'll have invested in it is time.
