Default Fuel pump for 96 xl 5.0

My front fuel pump is out so I need to get a new one. Any recommendations? I'm also having trouble distinguishing from the auto part websites which one is for the front and which one is for the rear.

It all depends on if it's a swb or lwb, a 4x2 or a 4x4.
I've been running a Spectra Premium for over a year now with no problems.

It's 4x4. I'm not sure what the difference between lwb and swb is

So, after some research I figured out that it has the 17gallon midship steel tank. I'm having a hell of a time finding a pump for it. I've only been able to find the motocraft brand pumps than run about $485. Do any of the other pumps work for this one, or does anyone know of a cheaper pump?

There are usally only two tanks for your truck a 16.5 and a 19 gal. The 16.5 will be wider and shorter (about 42"x14") than the 19 (about 59"x12").

Sounds like yours may be the 16.5
