I bought the tool needed to remove the fuel lines. I have been trying to disconnect the lines from the fuel filter for an hour yesterday and no luck. The fuel filter and lines are original equipment from 1995. My dad could care less about preventive maintenance and now he needs to change the pump and filter. How are these lines removed? I used the tool on the inside of the line and pushed the line outward with it making sure the tool was on the inside of the fitting to release the spring or clip, but nothing. Please help.
push the line towards the filter or pump first, insert tool, keep pressure on tool twist, cuss three times, the try, then try twisting an pulling. its still a pain in the *** with the tool but keep trying and cussing and you'll get it
What 94Bronc said...you've got it easy...I've got a Flareside shortbed with dual tanks......it's damn near impossible getting to the fuel filter but it can be done.
