Default Fuel gauge

The fuel gauge on my 94 f 150 isn't working I was told it could be the sensor in the tank. What you guys think and where is the cheapest place to get it ?

If you have dual tanks or One tank, The Sending unit is going to be on the fuel pump assembly. If you have two tanks this is easy as you tell weather its the gauge or the sending unit by switching tanks. If its not dual tank ground the sending unit wires and have a friend check to see if the guage moves.

Best i can think of

Or you could just move the fuel float.

The gauge doesn't move at all when you drive it just stays way past full and I have one tank.

I have the same problem. Something to do with the sensor in the tank? I think is what i heard.

You'd have to drop the tank and replace the sensor i think
but i am not an expert on that subject. lol

I have an 89 with dual tanks, the front if over half a tank goes all the way past the F. Im just to lazy to deal with it so i always use the rear tank to fill up and what ever is left over goes in the front.

I think you can replace it separately but you can always buy a new pump with a new sending unit and keep the old pump as a spare.

I've got dual tanks also, and its the front for me too.
Except its always on empty
so i just keep it full and use the rear one

well on my grandpas truck one of the wires on the sending unit came un-soldered. Easy fix. But once we got it fixed and put the dash back in the needle was stuck past F. Took dash out, flipped it around so the needle would be on empty and it worked. It might be as simple as that, or...as simple as that. haha.
