my baby is sitting, dead in the water. 1995 f150 xlt, 302 small block automatic trans.

the freeze plug or plugs have rotted out and all liquid from the radiator is simply pouring out of her. the leak is the plug right where my driver side motor mount is. i can barely get my fingers in there, let alone replace it myself at the moment.

i can't possibly come up with the money for the tow and repairs to replace all the freeze plugs (moving etc right now.)

i was told that if i get the set (around 20 bucks) and a floor jack (which i can get from my father in law), i can take apart one side of the motor mount, jack the motor up and replace the freeze plugs. does anyone have any experience with this? ANY help is appreciated as this was up until yesterday my daily work truck. now i have to drive my dads secondary car, a crappy dodge neon.

please, please, please help.

You can take out the mount and get to it,but it can still be a pain.You can knock the old one in with long extension or bar with a blunt end, then turn it sideways and pull it out with pliers.If you use the knock in kind be sure it goes in straight and even,you can also buy the compression type that has a nut on it,put it in flush and tighten it up,put some silicone on it before you install it just to be safe.You can get by just replacing the one thats leaking for now,but suggest to replace the others when you get time as they wont be far behind the others from leaking.

are you saying there's a freeze plug behing the motor mount on the driver side?

Or use an engine block heater that go in those cold plugs they work that's how I fixed mine

There is a temporary fix it is dorman rubber expansion plug part # 02604 It works like
A steel freeze plug . You can find them at any auto parts store. Just remember that its temporary Untill you can get the whole set of freeze plugs changed. I have had to use them before they work Pretty good they have got me out of a jam.
Part #02604 is for I6. The part # 02603..
