Default Thermostat housing bolts

So I'm going to have to replace my thermostat housing gasket cause i noticed a small leak from it. In the chance I break the bolts where do you order them? I asked some part stores and the closest i could get was for the 351. Seems like a real simple part to find. That or if someone has the specs for the bolts and I will just have the college machine shop make up a pair.

I figured id have to go to the hardware store route. But just wanted to know if i could have bought them elsewhere. Hopefully i can get at-least one out in one piece so i can find the right thread count and length I need.

The thermostat housing is probably corroded or damaged, happens a lot. Get the cast iron piece instead of the aluminum crappy one.

Aluminum on left, cast iron on right:

Thankfully i have a cast iron one Borrowed a blue torch today so going to do it tonight or tomorrow in my buddies nice warm garage. But question... Torch wont affect that temp sensor will it? I don't think it will but just wondering.

I really don't think a torch is required.

Maybe not, i usually use heat on stuff cause thats the way i always have done it, just not near sensors. We'll see how it goes, worst case i break them and drill and tap new holes.

If you're worried, unscrew the sensor. It does have plastic on it.
