I don't know how high I would go if I had a V8 since I don't have one, but I go to 3800 RPMs before I shift to the next gear. And it's pulling the whole way.

theres only 2 ford motors i'll ever put in my truck, the first is the I6, and the other would be a 7.3 powerstroke. I pulled out a fresh rebuilt 351w and put a I6 in its place.

if anything else would go in it would be a cummins B4t or B6 swap

I've held my 5.0 to amost 5 just gets loud doesn't really go fast,, doesn't help I'm pulling large tires.

My I6 I had I'm pretty sure it went well past 5 on its last trip it left me stranded in the snow for a few hours and nobody answered their phone, didn't help it had no heat or door seals.
Needless to say it caught a lead foot and never started after I shut it off.

I notice my trucks power band seems off from what everyone says it is.

my truck pulls up to about 2300 and just starts to get louder no pulling. its stock timing and just the exhaust is wide open but that could be the issue.
My I6 idles at 600 rpms. small tach cant read it very well while drving just got it for a reline really

My V8 idles around 750 rpms and pulls all the way through 1700-5500 rpms

My New 1984 fiero idles at 1,000 rpms that's all i know so far winter sucks

I do Like the 351s but Just think an I6 just doesn't get the respect it deserves in the Performance world I'm here to correct that! haha
