Default Flashing Overdrive light

hey guys hoping someone might have some advice/info on this. Started up the truck a couple days ago and the interior lights dont come on, the overdrive "off" light flashes on and off, and the odometer lights up but no numbers show.

Thanks

This happened to my buddies 97. It was a loose connection to the computer. He cleaned up the plug and hooked it back up. Then disconnected the battery and let it sit for a couple minutes to reset the computer. Try restting it first maybe it will go away.

the problem got worse, i go to start the truck and it sounds like its going to start but it doesn't, seems as though its not getting gas *checked fuel pressure valve and it has gas*. any ideas? i want to pull the codes but dont have a reader.

I had a short in the gear shift lever that caused several electrical problems in gauges and transmission. Replaced gear shift and problem gone.

sounds like your ECU crapped out. the flashing OD light is a warning that your transmission is in limp mode. but your mileage aint showing and the engine aint starting. check for codes, check the connections. if that dont help then the ECU is probably out like i said.

a code reader is only $20-$35 depending where you go.
