Default Exhaust Leak - What part... How important

Hey Everyone, I just got this '95 F150 XLT 4x4 from a friends great aunt who bought it new in 1995. The break line to the front right wheel is rusted through so i we had it towed back to my house. While trying to get the break line off i noticed a leak dripping onto my driveway and followed it back to the exhaust. its a hole rusted through this part. i was wondering what part this is, how expensive it might be to replace, and how important it is that i get this fixed before i start driving it.

Is that water or fuel? That looks like the stock muffler to me. You can get a patch kit if it bothers you, or state laws require that.

Looks just like a drain for the water produced during the combustion of the gasoline. That why out of most vehicles you see dripping out of the tailpipe. Nothing to worry about. Mine does it also.

Alot of mufflers come with a weep hole to drain the muffler of water from condensation.

Muffler. No big deal. Condensation builds up and eventually finds a way out. Only issue is rust buildup inside creating back pressure and possible noise. When your done with repairs and ready for performance mods just swap it out with a stainless or aluminumized muffler.

when replacing the exhaust, any suggestions for a decent quality good sounding exhaust system? preferably in the 200-300 dollar range?

Also if your more budget minded summit sells a copy of the Flomaster for much cheaper. I used their $25 universal baffled muffler and just had to add an extensions to the pipe. It's a lot shorter than the factory muffler.
