Hello,
I just joined the forum today, and was hoping I could get some help with this.

I have a '95 F-150 and the truck starts when I turn the key but will not shut off when I remove the key. The engine remains running and all electronics remain on. Just before I found this problem I noticed the key felt loose when turned towards start and off. To turn of the truck I have a switch which toggles the truck to run on propane, which when flipped turns off the fuel pump (truck is no longer set up for propane anymore so the engine turns off). I disconnect the battery to turn off electronics.

I've turn apart most of the steering column assembly, but i cannot identify the problem myself. Everything looks ok to me, but maybe someone who knows this area can identify what may be wrong better than I can. I believe something called an actuator arm is to be the problem, it seems to be missing a pin, but i'm not sure how its supposed to look originally. It would be helpful to have so kind of diagram showing all the parts for the steering column to know what connects the ignition switch to the key, and/or a detailed step by step guide to putting it all back together, so i can get it to a shop.

I was hoping this would be an easy fix, but it doesn't seem to be as easy as i thought it would be.

I've already tried a new key tumbler thing. same issue

Might also be the ignition switch on the bottom of the column.

I'm having the same problem. Replaced with new tumbler, truck starts fine but will not shut off we key is rotated back. My brother who used to work for a Ford dealership is checking with former workmates. I will post results when I get them.

I had this happen to my truck, for me it was a little push rod with a pin on it and the pin tends to get loose and fall out it was like 15 bucks and the dealer wanted 300 to fix it so I gave it a shot and did it and while I was at it I took the annoying door chime thing off

I see, that must have been what happened to my truck as well. When you got the new arm, how did you get it back into position? I read somewhere that if you sand off some of the plastic then you can wedge it into position.

It took me forever to realize how to put that little arm thing on so I just took the pin out of the new one then put it in place then super glued the pin back in probably didn't need glue but I didn't want it to happen again
