Shamelessly plagiarized and rewritten from the Capri-list mailing list - the Capri that used to be the German offering sold by Mercury dealers in the 70s -- ahhhh, the sexy European. I used to be sexy once upon a time, just not European. :-)

Twas the night before Christmas, and I became worried
for out in the driveway my F150 it was buried.
The snow banks were growing, there was ice in the air
And I was so worried for the F150 needed care.

The fenders were rusting, the windshield was cracked
and the dealer still hadn’t fixed the seat backs.

And wife out of patience gave orders at last,
I was was told to get busy, fix or get rid of that crap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter.

But the engine was silent, no tappets to blame.
but the sound of a rattle came through just the same.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of oil on the driveway below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, powered by a big Ford V8!

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles on the keyboard he clicked,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called out these names;
"Now, eBay! now, eBid! now, now Amazon and Whitneys!
On, Carl’s Corral! on Craigslist! on, Rock Auto and lmctruck!

To the top of the porch! to out to the the mall!
Now Email away! Email away! Email away all!"

So out on the internet his orders they flew,
Soon the driveway full of was full of trucks and St. Nicholas too!

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
a crate whose contents had cost Santa quite dear.

It was a Boss 302, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it was a 5.0 with stick!

More rapid than eagles more boxes they came through,
And the labels they told of the glory to come…
with Weslake and Cosworth to name just a few,
To intall all this stuff I'd need Ira's pit crew!!

The he sprang to his sleigh, his delivery done
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and keep the shiny side upright!"
