Electronic Rust Protection
Thought I'd share this - so many people say that erc is so much hokum and no one really knows till it stands the test of time. I picked up a 96 the other day, went cheap cause of brake lines and a broken coil. What impressed me was the lack of rust - I mean it has some at the wheel wells, door and hood seams, but the cab corners, floors, box rails etc are still solid.
Found a wire off the battery and traced it to a box under the dash labelled Terminator. It grounds to the cab and the box.
So, I would say that while not 100% effective, after 19 years in South Ontario salt, to still have this much solid metal - I think the thing actually worked pretty good, considering.

It's a Canadian thing eh!
I still find oil undercoating to be more effective. This coming from someone who installs/warranties those rust inhibitor. Every so often the inhibitor strips corrode and need replacing.
