All you could want to know. No cons! Less than $50 upgrade. The only con is the time it takes removing the stock fan clutch. I run Chrysler 300 electric fans. There should be a fan list in the link. Some run Taurus or crown vic fans as well. Depending on your local salvage yard prices, you should be able to pick up a set of factory dual fans for around $25 and advanced auto parts carries a great e fan switch for $18. Happy reading. Also don't let other convince you to buy a $200 fan controller. Wasted money. The e fans are by far the cheapest and biggest bang for the buck. You will feel a difference in power.

Do any schematics exist for wiring up a dual speed electric fan that kicks on at low speed with the a/c? I have an electric fan, but never touched it because I got a steal on a new fan clutch.

With my Chrysler fans, there are 2 wires per fan. One high, one low. Easy enough to wire either fan to either high or low with the compressor/ac switch. I have not priced two speed controllers. I know they are high $. with the two fan factory setup, one fan cools the radiator great leaving one for the ac. You can also wire a manual switch to the one for the ac if you felt that you need the extra cooling, or just a relay to kick in the second fan even with the ac off. Tons of options. As far as schematics, I'm sure Google will yield results. There's just so many options.

Thank u! I spent so much time researching the fans and so much time trying every wiring combo that I could dream up. Now that I've I've setup a 4.9, 5.0 and the 5.8, I'm thoroughly convinced that this is the right way to go. Next on the list is the Fiance 's 4.8 Silverado and my son's Sierra 5.3. I have the Bully Dog brand new in the box for the Sierra and can't wait to see how much we get between the e fans and the Bully Dog. My ex step son just paid me to do the fans on his '65 mustang. That one was fun since there was only room for one fan. Had to grab a Toyota two speed fan to work with the aftermarket ac they installed. Another happy customer. Wish they were all done with the motor out of the car like the '65 was.
Not trying to brag, just enjoy sharing what I've learned doing this mod. I have some other experience with a certain air filter setup........nevermind. I don't want to cause the elders to lose any sleep arguing about that subject. Lol

There are many Pros with EFans but I wouldn't exactly say there are zero Cons. Ask me how I know!
Evacuated for a hurricane and see the temp gauge going up. Pulled over to find my control failed. I had the Flex-A-Lite Monster 270 fans. Over the course of owning the truck the controller went out 5 times, yes I said 5 times. Finally FAL upgraded the controlled and hadn't had a issue since then.
You can expect MPG gains, more power and a smoother running engine. Just make sure you either have a fail proof controller or parts in the truck to fix/hardware if a road side fix is needed.
