As of 2011 does anyone still have or have changed the factory thermostat? I just pulled the factory one outta my truck.

I have a 90. I just replaced the 2nd thermostat, makin it a third. Tho not because the tstat was bad but because the housing gasket was leaking.

That depends on overheating history mostly, & secondly, if you run well water or tap water, instead of distilled water your supposed to.

A substantial overheating episode after a Thermostat is only day's old may require immediate replacement.

Yes I bought the truck this year with the factory t-stat and changed it once. A few weeks later I changed it again with a different brand because it didnt solve mah heating issue.

Once out you can test your old tstat in boiling water to see if it opens and to get an idea of how it all works (simple)

You know I've heard all the way back to my grandpa. Never tried it. But I understand the theory behind it enough to see it in my head. My old tstat was to far gone to even try. It was in 3 peices.
