Default gas mileage

I have a 5.0 and I'm putting about $100 a week. I'm 17 and its killing me to pay that. Do any of you guys know how I can get a little better? I just serviced the truck too.

what kind of gas mileage do you get? keep in mind there's only so much you can do, it'll always be a truck. if you're getting 8 mpg, that's a problem, but don't expect too much more than 14. 100 / week tells us very little

I'm probably getting between 8 and 9. I'm not trying to get 20 mpg... I know that's unrealistic.

Seafoam it. On these older motors it really helps. I went from averaging 13-14 to 16 mpg.

Be sure to use a lot in the brake booster though. I would almost recommend getting 2 bottles of it.
