Door Glass replacement
Has anyone here replaced the door glass on your trucks, this is the second truck ive owned where the two front windows are all scratched up. So i am assuming most of these trucks get like that. I want to rplace the glass and the anti raddle strips as i think that is what has scratched them. does anyone know the easiest way or how to replace the door glass. i have done some other cars but there usually slanted and easy to get out these look so square i dont know how they would come out
thanks

I don't know the whole procedure but I think you have to remove the vent window to get the door glass out. The vent window assembly is attached to the front window channel.
The reason the glass gets scratched is usually because of the lower rubber window seals, inside and out.

As I remember, the track has to be loosened from the door to allow the glass to be removed. Its riveted into position, drill out the rivet, do the job and replace the rivet with a bolt and self locking nut.

Okay... That went better then expected. Fairly simple to do if anyone has specific questions i"d be glad to help.
Does anyone know anything about repairing or replacing the motor and gear assembly though... my window needs help when trying to roll back up.

Gear assembly/motor is fairly easy. You will notice when you take the door cover off (I have an 88' F150 XLT Lariat) that the motor is behind the small piece of door metal. It's help by 2 screws to the framing in the door. The motor holds in place on the track with a gear mechanism. Pull and remove/replace.
