Default DIY LIKE NEW headlights & taillights ! $20 w/ pics

My headlights were yellow/hazed/water logged. needless to say, I couldn't see much with them on(even high beam). I went to Wal-Mart and looked around for cleaning kits after hearing that my headlights were 75 each for replacements. NO THANK YOU. I bought "MOTHER'S powerball 4 lights headlight restoration kit". I've used the turtle wax brand and it didn't work so I was skeptical about using this but I figured it was worth a try. I took my headlights and every other light out and cleaned the housings. (I had to use the sandpaper kit INCLUDED because there was haze build up on the outside. I cleaned the inside and out (as well as the chrome inside the housing. I would have to say I am very happy with how they turned out. as for the longevity, I do not know yet. But, I would say its worth a try for anyone! sorry for this being so long, just want to try to help some people out that have the same problem I had! (also, I used blue rtv sealant to reseal the headlights and you can BARELY see it. it was all I had on hand
(sorry, no before pic, but it was pretty nasty.)

If you keep some polish on them, the job last longer otherwise they begin to haze again within 3-4 months. If you really spend your time wet sanding they come out even shinier with about 2 passes of the buffing compound, wipe with a clean no-fiber cloth and a good polish.

looks good, but wont last to long.
you can go to rock auto and get headlights for our trucks for about 20 bucks each.

they are great quality and come with good quality philips bulbs.

Your gonna spend more by keeping on doing them than the 20 dollar sets off rock auto that are good quality..

you can also use toothpaste then wipe off with a wet rag or you can spray Off! bug spray and wipe it off

haha. funny story. I learned the toothpaste trick when I worked at a dealership in sc. preowned cars had to be done even if they looked good. Oddly enough, it works. cheap too.
