Default dipstick tube

I have a 96 F150 with an inline 6/ 4.9 engine. I want to take the push rod cover plate off to change the gasket. To do that I want to remove the dipstick tube. Can anyone tell me how to get the tube out - is it just hard to pull out or does it unscrew or what? I didn't see anything on the forum that tells how to do it. Maybe it's straight forward and I just can't see it. Thanks for any help.

There's usually a plate (flange) that bolts to the motor and then it pulls out - but it probably won't come out easy - it's been in there for 20 years.

It's screwed on like a transmission line.
