Default Custom Headlight Switch

Hey guys. Just curious about my headlight switch. My current headlight (pull style) switch was just replaced. It had a lot of corrosion and ended up melting one terminal of the plastic harness that clips in the back of it. Now since the harness is melted when I turn my headlights on the truck shuts off completely. The wires are in good shape but I would need the plastic harness piece replaced because it shorts out. I was wondering if instead I could hook up some toggle switches to the dash and just use them instead. If so would there be any wiring changes or simply move the wiring from the old harness to their new appropriate switches ( I was thinking one for marker lights and one for low beams). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

Do yourself a favor and get the correct replacement pigtail. WPT-165

Just go to the junk yard and cut off the pigtail you need.

So basically it's just too difficult to mess with? I know replacing the pigtail is easy. I'm welding up a custom switch box from some stainless for my other lights. Just thought it would look cool.
