I don't think you got the codes right. 25 is an engine running code, and you said it doesn't run so there is no way you could have got it. 56 is VAF or MAF, and your truck has neither. Try for codes again and watch the flashes carefully.

When you turn the key to 'on' but don't start the truck, do you hear the fuel pump whine for a second? I'm just taking a wild guess that the fuel pump isn't working, but I'm not really sure based on the oddball codes that you're getting.

Yea buddy. I was wondering if someone would comment on that.

Let's see here, code 25= knock not sensed during dynamic test. Dynamic test is the engine running test, so it's pretty hard to get this code without the engine running.
Code 52= power steering pressure switch always open or closed. No big deal, this would affect idle but not too often.
Code 56, I actually found a meaning for this for your truck, I must have skipped right over it. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it means. This is how it is written exactly- TOT reads −40<deg.>F or circuit open (E4OD). It seems to be an automatic transmission code. If someone knows what the TOT sensor is I might be able to figure something out, but if it's a transmission code it probably won't matter to get the engine running.

Because of the engine running code with the engine not running, I'm going to guess a computer problem. If it were my truck, I would try changing the computer, but remember that's the best reasonable guess I have.

I'm out of ideas, but this definitely makes me feel better about the 'simplicity' of my EGR issues!

I believe TOT to be temperature of transmission, on toyota that will throw a check engine and run in low power mode (get you home). Try pulling the 'knock sensor', that fixed my ('93 4.9L) starting problem!

Excellent! Thanks for the info, and the fresh ideas. Your solution sounds reasonable and fits with the codes, I'd try that.
