Cold Air Intake
#2
...I don't see it doing anything to the sound of the truck. Wrong end of the flow. But, if I'm not mistaken, your truck should have a factory CAI of sorts. I have gen 8, and my intake has a would-be snorkel that comes up and sucks from right above the grille. I've heard you can flip that so it doesn't suck from right where the hood closes and directly under instead, but, no idea.
From there, your next choice seems like it would be a high flow or K&N filter to me.

I have the K&N CAI and it is nice. I noticed a slight bit of power and throttle response, smooth idle, and it just sounds cool from under the hood if you pull the trottle cable quickly, you can see and hear how much air it is moving through there!

I have a k&n 57 fipk2 on my 90 5.0 I noticed very small performance and fuel improvement but now it sounds like a fat pissed off cat lives under my hood everytime the throttle is opened.
