Exclamation Code 33

I recently read the codes on my 92 f150 5.0v8 and i came up with code #33. i read in my chilton manual that its EGR valve opening not detected. Has anyone else had this problem, and what can be done to fix it, to manifold and vacuum leaks associate with this type of condition? thanks again for any and all replys..

Here's some good reading about the path you're about to take...

Maybe reading through this thread will help you narrow things down before you spend a month's time and salary figuring out what the heck is going on.

I would check for vacuum leaks, I had the same issue and replaced everything. The EGR valve, EVP and the EGR vacuum solenoid. The solenoid was the only truley bad part, but I have 185,000 on the factory EGR system and it was due. I also replaced all the rubber vacuum lines, required about 3ft and at 85 cents a foot you would be surprised how much of a difference that can make.
