Default Code 173 and fast idle

I scanned my truck at work and got code 173 -rich exhaust oxygen sensor, ego not opening.... also, my truck idles really fast even when i am braking going down the road, and it consumes a lot of gas. any help would be great.

With the 173 and the fast idle my first guess will be the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator came off or is leaking. What code did you get for the EGR?

I didnt get a code for the egr. I look the code up on the computer at work on alldata and it said 173- ego not opening, rich exhaust. (yes it said ego not egr). it was kind of both of them under that one code i think. also it seems like whenever i wash my truck at the self car wash it seems lick whenever i was my truck or even when it rains sometimes, it runs sluggish for a while until it clears up and then it will boost forward like water under the distribitor cap? i replaced it and have the same problem though.

I thought that was a typo. EGO stands for exhaust gas oxygen sensor. I don't have a listing for EGO not opening in any of my code books, the EGO doesn't open anyways but it could mean open circuit.
