If you push the clutch pedal and stick you head up in there you can miss it just look for something moving. The switch surrounds the rod.

There are release tabs on the switch it self. They are on the top and a beyatch to get to. Once released the switch opens and comes off from around the rod. It may be easier to remove the clutch master to access the switch. No need to disconnect the hydraulic line on the master. Just take it off the firewall. You have to disconnect the plug first and carefully take the rod end off the pedal linkage or else the little plastic bushing will break. There are replacements available if it does. Then you will have access to all sides of the switch.

This sounds like a worth while project and Im sure completely doable with a wire print. Its way down on the list though...

Tryed to get a picture of my other truck, but its to dark, its on the firewall inside the cab, to the right of the steering shaft, basically follow the gas pedal arm straight up, then go up some more, right there with a gray connector.

This is mine:

Attachment 124685

It is against the actual clutch pedal instead of on the clutch pushrod.

Could your pedal bushings be worn out? I had to replace mine a couple times. Ill get the part number, its cheap to replace them.

On my 88 f150, I took the switch off, cut the red wires and twisted them together. I still used the clutch to start my truck, but the circuit was closed to allow for the start.

Safe way of doing it, go to auto parts store, buy new switch, install new switch.
