My truck's clutch is starting to slip, especially since I have a load of wood in the back. I have the 5 speed, and I didn't think there was much adjustment in a hydraulic clutch, but wanted to check here before making any rash decisions. Ever since I got the truck in December, the friction point has been almost at the end of the pedal's travel...is there anything I can do?

well i did a search and see that there's not really any adjustment to be made, i suppose i'll try bleeding and seeing if there's any play anywhere. if anyone has any other suggestions, let me know!

after bleeding it theres really nothing more that you can do other than buy a new clutch

yeah my 87 f150 is acting the same way. i bled the slave cylinder and it got alittle better but i might be putting a new clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing. I was looking at lmc truck and they have the whole package for my truck for $160. anyone have any experience with lmc truck clutches?

well, i'm PRETTY sure it wasn't a system bleeding that was necessary. is this good? did i break it?




as you could probably guess, my truck just stopped moving altogether. the new clutch kit will be here tomorrow.

...or you could just glue those shavings back on to the disc. That would probably be just as good as a new one.

Hope PIC reveals the pressure plate side of the disc, otherwise your flywheel could be toast also. Be safe have it machined anyway to remove any hot spots or distortion.

you got it bill! i was thinking the same thing. there are some VERY small cracks, my manual says that if they're minor you can just get it machined. i'll be doing that before putting the new clutch in, definitely don't wanna get it all back together just to realize the flywheel is junk.
