Cluster wire diagram
My buddy just got a 1989 Bronco 351W and his gas gauge doesn't work. Also he doesn't have the clear plastic cover for it. I have an old gauge cluster from my 1995 cause I put one in w/ a tach. but can I take my old one and put it in his?
DOES anyone have a cluster wire diagram for the '89?

No, the 1992-96 F-150 instrument cluster Lens will not fit 1987-91 F-150's.
The Sending Unit in his gas tank may not be working anymore
and that could be why the gas gauge is not working.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
My front fuel tank needle "pegs out" past Full even when bone-dry empty.
My rear fuel tank sending unit works as designed,
so I know it's not my Fuel Gauge in the cluster.
As you know; the In-Tank Fuel Pump is attached to the Sending Unit.
They can be purchased separately or as an assembly.

Well to my surprise we took apart my old cluster (I upgraded to an XLT one with a tach) and I took out the fuel gauge and put it in his and it fit and worked perfectly. His old fuel gauge was missing the needle and the rod part of it was bent. I used the my old oil pressure gauge, speedometer (I didn't want my truck to read 249,000 miles). everything worked out great til he decided to hook up some aftermarket gauges and burnt up something in the cluster and now half the gauges don't work
