Cleaning Throttle Body
Hello,
I am new to this site and am seeking some knowledge on cleaning the throttle body on my 1995 F150 4X4, 4.9L, 300 six cylinder, 5 spd.
There is a label directly on the throttle body that says do not clean because of some coating, has anyone cleaned theirs anyhow? Thanks

Safest thing I found is to remove the throttle body and clean it with greased lightning, hose it off, dry it, it wont hurt the throttle body. Or they make a throttle body cleaner at the parts store. Besides the finish is probably worn off from the dirt particles that go over the butterflies.

Eh, not sure about the newer stuff, relatively speaking. Carb cleaner has always worked well for me.
However, I have the MAP sensor. The newer versions, such as yours, have the MAF sensor - which does require a special MAF sensor cleaner - about $7 at the parts store.
