catalytic converter?
My exhaust isn't as loud as I would like it, so I'm cutting the catalytic converter off, this'll open her up a little bit and give me a little volume. I live in Florida so I don't have to worry about emissions. My question is "How do I do it?" can I cut it off with a hacksaw, what do I use to re-join the pipe. Or can I remove the catalytic converter hollow it out and just put the casing back on. Please let me know.

ive never heard anything about florida being a no emission state. from what ive heard, you had to have a cat and your legit. i tryed getting mine done and had to get it done under the table because no place would do it and write a reciept or anything. a shop here in town just got sued BIG time for doing that recently as well.... and whats your exhaust now? if its just a cat out to a y-pipe, i wouldnt change anything. because thats a very loud setup, and youd be surprized how much that changes. and if you have a muffler behind your cat, cut that off, because thats whats reducing the noise so much, not your cat.
if you want to take it off, taking it somewhere and getting it done would be the best thing to do unless you can weld. but if you know how to weld, i doubt youd be asking this question. but you would use a thing called a y pipe to put it back together.

Well.....
It's a cat back system, single inlet dual out flo-pro. As far as emissions, we don't get yearly checks once a year like they do up north.

that is true, but if its too loud and a cop pulls you over and looks at your setup and notices no cat, thats a 2K fine to you, and a 5K fine to whoever did it. now are your chances likely that this will happen? no. but i know when we had big meets from the local forum, that seemed to be something that cops liked to do.
and about the exhaust, ditch the muffler. throw in a y-pipe after the cat and run a dual setup. i had that on my old truck and loved it. sounds pretty good.
