Default can't get lines off of fuel filter

I'm trying to change my fuel filter and i can't get the lines off.. stuck the little tool in there and everything.. but it looks like this..

You might already know this, but here goes. Inside the fuel line is a small metal ring with five or six little metal fingers that holds the fuel filter in place. I've had one before that one of the metal fingers was curled not allowing the fuel filter to come loose. I cut the fuel filter so I was left with a small metal **** in the fuel line. Then use a screwdriver or pick to bend the metal finger straight. Sometimes previous owners suck!

ok if i cut the filter tube off i can see to get the little finger straightened?

did you bleed off the pressure?

spray it down with some pb blaster.

yeah i tripped the inertia switch and let it die.. and i don't think pb blaster will help because i can twist it but it won't pull off.. correct me if I'm wrong

pb will work, yes it will spin but you need the teeth to release and they can get crud up in there,

Remember to push in the line towards the filter while pushing in the tool and twist a bit. I did this on the front of the filter and made taking off the back a lot quicker.
