Default Bypassing trans cooler with 37000 BTU Cooler

I have a 37000 BTU transmission cooler that I am going to put on with my new transmission. I don't really want to flush the original in-radiator cooler and risk there still being some sort of trash in there.. So how will a 37000 BTU cooler be, being used by itself rather than in series with the factory cooler?

Do yourself a favor and flush the radiator or buy a new radiator. The radiator serves a highly integral function with the transmission temperature.

The radiator cooler is actually a heat exchanger - it'll pull heat out of the tranny fluid in hot weather and put it in in really cold weather, so on really cold days it helps the tranny get to operating temperature.
It's a solid brass tube inside the plastic radiator end cap - flushing it shouldn't be a problem.
