Bypass the fuel inertia switch??
i bought a 91 ford 4.9 4x4. and it had a fuel problem, but it has a new fuel problem. i was under the dash and hit the inertia fuel swicth and now the fuel pump relay stopped clicking. Would it do any harm to just bypass that swicth?

Springer Spaniels Rule
Shouldnt, but it is there for safety reasons, if you crash it kills the fuel pumps, if you bypass its recommended you soon get a new one if this one is bad.

^ +1. If the switch won't reset with the pushbutton, the magnet has probably gotten weak - it's time for a new one.
One of those things you hope you never need, but will be glad it's there when the occasion calls for it.

Question: On my 93 F250 there are 2 heavy wires and 1 light gauge wire feeding the inertia switch. I have jumped the two heavy ones and the pump activates but I'm wondering if I need to do something with the smaller 3rd wire. Anyone know? Thanks
