Question Bronco C6 to E4OD or AOD Swap

So i was thinking about a swap, and the car junkyard, transmissions are only $99.99 for a 4x4 with a 45 day replacement, so I was thinking of swapping my 3 speed C6 bronco with a newer E4OD or AOD.(not sure which would be better/easier) It took $80 to fill 3/4 of the tank, so $10 more and I can have a different tranny lol. My 1990 f150 has an 302 E4OD, but its 2wd and I'm happier with its mileage than the Bronco. I understand the bronco has a bigger and a carbed engine, but I'm sure the transmission will help too. The Bronco is an 87 with a 351w carbed, and obviously a C6 auto. I want the 4th gear because I drive this to school everyday and the lower RPMs will be nicer, rather than running at 2300 constantly with the C6. What all will I need to make this work? I know the front and rear drive shafts because the C6 is shorter than the others, but what else? The computer? Also what year of truck/bronco should I be looking for? What would be the best swap for me, an AOD or E4OD?
Thanks

AOD, non electronic overdrive, just need the shift cable and throttle bracket, I think Lokar parts for hot rods has the stuff.

Sweet thanks, and your saying the AOD should bolt right up, to the 351? Might be a dumb question, but at the junkyard how will I tell which tranny is which? in other words where are the badges on them?

this will show you the different pan shapes and bolt counts to determine the trans. i would definitely go for AOD, i have the E4OD and i hate it because of all the sensors and crap. plus for the cost of getting a remanned E4OD you can get an AOD from TCi that can handle up to 450 hp. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/PanShapes.htm

Well i'm back again on summer break, and I'm doing an EFI conversion now and again thought about the E4OD tranny, I would have a computer for the EFI anyways, so does an E4OD sound like a good choice? Wiring for EFI will be a PITA but might as well do the transmission while i'm at it. It will also keep me from taking a crown vic apart just for the 351 flexplate lol
