Default Broken EGR Tube

So, I'm doing my intake gasket. I unbolted the EGR from the upper intake and it just falls down. Once I get the intake off and start to disassemble more, I happen to pull on the valve-end of it and it just pulled off. Is there some way I can cap the two ends off and block off the solenoid so it don't affect anything? Thanks.

Idk if you can cap it off, but you can replace the tube i found one locally for like 40 bucks.

I know it's replaceable. I just don't want to and since it can be blocked off on the upper-intake side, I'd think I could just delete it.

The truck will run better with it working.

Then why are the EGR block off kits popular? And how could I fix it without buying a new tube? It's broke off where the lower pipe meets the flex tube.

I hear ya. I starting looking for a replacement and all I could find what a dealer item for $100. I had one at the local Pick n Pay but when I went back to get it the truck had been crushed.

I'm sure you can make one with a pipe bender, flaring tube and some couplers but getting those bends exactly right is a b^&*h! I bent mine and it took me six tries to get it back into shape.

It you can find someone that carries it cheaper please let me know.

Ok, I have a new plan. I'm gonna do the smog delete and use that hose to patch the EGR pipe. It's a 5/8 coarse-thread bolt to plug the heads, right? Anything else I need to do? My cat's gutted already, so that's not a problem.
