ok I will check them again. is there any heavy duty belt i can get? the last one i bought was 60 bucks from Napa and has a 2 year warranty which i will be getting my 60 bucks back.

Not sure, I need to replace mine too, ill have to remember that when I send it in for an alignment and oil change...

well i work at sears so the one i bought was the high end we sell at my sears so i guess its the top notch.

You wouldn't notice the power steering pump sticking easily. Your steering does whine, right?

just a bit but it has done that ever since i bought it about a year and a half ago never gotten worse. you think it would be sticking? how can i check for that? and wouldent i hear a squealing?

The whine means it's straining, how bad of a whine also makes the degree of the strain. When the pump strains it pulls hard on the belt on the backside of the pump, and since the tensioner is on the backside then it pulls in the direction of loosening. When the pump stops straining the tensioner doesn't move back tight fast enough to stop the belt from throwing. When I switched to the GM (Saginaw) pump my belts stopped throwing.

ahh i see its not really bad i guess it only throws when i floor it in neutral


I really should do that conversion, i guess i should pick one up at the junkyard next week when i get a few other parts

if you have pictures of the brackets you made it would help me out some.
