It's a pretty sraight forward job if you have a little know how,but if you are not sure you should buy a chilton,haynes or somekind of repair manuel,they are good to have anyway,it can be a tough job if you dont have the tools to do it especially if you are doing it in your driveway on the ground.

Did the job yesterday, without band aids or the beer. For any one doing this project I have some advise...... #1 Get 2 ball joint pickle forks so you can free both joints at the same time. # 2 I had a Chiltons manual that said the lower joint had to be installed on the spindle first, perhaps that is true on some years, but not on my 96. Whichever one you got out last must be installed first, think it out before acting. #3 The ball joints only cost me about $12.50 each, so don't bother to change only one.

I agree with everything you said, But I believe the manual says the lower first for 4x4's, but why deprive yourself of natures nectar...Beer....Should never be left out on any repair job.....good work.
