Lightbulb Bad Thermostat??

Ok guys I have a huge problem and I have no clue what to do. Got a 93 F150 XLT 5.0 4WD. When I start it to warm up in the morning my heat doesnt get warm. Then i drive and it gets warm then cold again. My temperature gage goes haywire from hot to cold over and over. After a while it stops and goes normal until i come to a stop light, and it goes right back up. Then i take off and it goes back down to cold. Does anyone know whats going on??

Is the motor overheating? It could be a lot from clogged cooling system( heater core, rad) , blown headgasket, or maybe just a funny cold/hot switch.

Sounds like you're low on antifreeze.

Check your coolant level in the radiator. Remember to only open the cap when the radiator is cool.

Sounds like you need to burp the cooling system.

Check the antifreeze in the radiator AND the reserve tank.

It could be a sticky thermostat...but I'm more willing to bet that its the low antifreeze.
