Default auto locking hubs are getting hot

my 90 f150s autolocking hubs are getting very hot what could be wrong???

Hubs could be tryin' to engage and creating friction. or the hub bearings could be going out.

More than likely its your bearings. Open it up, check everything out, replace/repack your bearings as needed.

ok thanks but should the front drive shaft be moving when my front tires are moving???

If your tcase is in 2wd, no it shouldn't move.

Either your tcase is engage, or your auto locking hubs never unlocked. Auto locking hubs are pretty junky. i'd ditch them, and install a set of Warn Premium manual locking hubs. Better quality, great warranty. and while you're replacing them, repack/replace those bearings.
