Default Alternator upgrade

Does anyone know what other vehicles I could pull a high amperage alternator from that will work in a 1988 F150 w/a 351W EFI engine? Mine is a 65 amp I believe and I would like to upgrade to a 100 amp or higher, and am hoping I cna pull a stock one from another car or truck that has a stock high amp one in it? Thanks for any help!!

Well, now...200 or 300 might be a bit much...I was hoping for advice for about 100 or 120 amps...I want to be able to charge the battery in my travel trailer as I am towing...and I may be putting some accessories in that will need some extra ooomph...

Ok then here you go: One thing to remember you can't get an alternator that is too powerful. they are totally regulated so they will supply what is needed.

Have yours upgraded by a automotive electric shop. Should be one near enough to do the work. We have 3 here in Tallahassee.

OK, well it appears that at least a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII with a 302 uses a 100-Amp alternaotr and it is identical to the truck I have...I guess I will look at Pull-A-Part to see if I can find one of those and get it for about $15!!! Thanks all!!

I went through two starters from Advanced Auto for a B2000 Mazda truck I once had the first one I paid for, the second one was a replacement, it failed and I said to hell with Advanced Auto and went to the NAPA parts store which I have purchased my parts from for over 35 years and purchased a third no more trouble, and you know what the price was the same.
