Most "No codes" are wiring related. If I had to guess, I'd check to see if the EEC relay got fried when the wires grounded to the exaust manifold. Also see if all your fuseable links & your regular fuses show continuity. Here's the check list of fun things to do when in your predicament:http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=44

Simple fix. Go to junk yard or ebay, get sinle points dist, install. Bus seriously, also check power to the coil, both pos and neg, and check any fusable links if there are any.

Power to the coil, no spark. Could be the Coil plus your EEC prob. You can p/u a used coil @ a junkyard for two or three bucks.

What is single points dist? How old are you son? Just kidding. Its an old school system that has one wire and a breaker contact. Very simple. No electronic crap. If you get no spark, pull the cap, sand the contact, fire it up. You probably burnt out the pickup in the dist or the module, or you burnt a wire you couldnt find.

You should get a constant 12v to the coil when the key is on.

So you have a TFI attached to you your distributor? You got a spout connector? if you do, remove it and then check for spark from the coil or try to start it. That removes the ignition system from the EEC control Loop. Timing defaults to whatever base timing is set at, and the timing curve is directly related to RPMs only (no computer advance). That's how my truck is set up. Not fixing anything, just another piece of the puzzle.

Not to sound like a smart ***, just curious, so basically the ignition is stand alone? The only thing the computer controls is the timing?
